Caraway is a plant of European origin, which was introduced to North America in the settlers' gardens. The plant having well acclimated to this new environment, we find it today, in the wild, in several regions of the province.
As its scent is more robust and complex than that of cultivated caraway, wild caraway is generally used in small doses. It goes well with game, cabbage (in sauerkraut, for example) or potato dishes. It can also be used to spice up vegetable soup or grilled food.
