Description
The olive grove in Haute-Provence from which Maison Brémond selected these olives for the Fruity Green Heritage Olive oil, is made up of around 1,500 trees over an area of more than 4 hectares. It has an ideal orientation and forms a dale crossed by the bed of a small river. Some of the olive trees were planted around 15 years ago and are mostly of the Aglandau, Frantoio and Bouteillan varieties, cultivated by the Drac family all year round for our immense pleasure.
The last harvest was in November. The olives were pressed just a couple of hours after being picked in the Moulin du Luberon in Volx in Haute-Provence to obtain 983 litres of an outstanding extra virgin olive oil. All the pride of Maison's team is in this new fruity green oil.
We have called it HERITAGE olive oil because it is packaged in our 500 ml Vintage metal cans, which were the start of our Maison in 1830.
Aromatic palette: A fruity green with hints of grass, green almond and white flowers.
Tasting note: a fruity green with a nose of raw artichoke blended with the riper notes of tomato, jasmine and apple.
On the palate: smooth with the bitterness and a slight astringency like that left by green nut or a green olive. Followed by hints of almond, banana and raspberry leaves.
Food pairings: on a salad of potatoes in their skins or to finish pumpkin fresh from the oven.
